On 21 September, some celebrations took place in Salerno in honour of St Matthew, the Patron Saint of the city. Therefore, a religious ceremony was held, presided over by H.E. the Most Reverend Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, and in the presence of Archbishop Andrea Bellandi, Archbishop of Salerno and Knight Grand Cross of the Order. The ceremony was held in the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies, the Delegate of Naples and Campania, Marquise Federica de Gregorio Cattaneo and a large group of Knights of the Delegation of Naples and Campania.
NAPLES AND CAMPANIA: EXALTATION OF THE HOLY CROSS
On September 17, The Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross of the Delegation of Naples and Campania was celebrated (with a few days of delay compared to the calendar for technical-organizational reasons). More than 30 Knights and Dames of the Delegation were present; Father Mario Savarese, Vice Prior of the Delegation, rector of the Church of San Francesco Paola in Naples at Piazza del Plebiscito, presided over the Mass.
NAPLES AND CAMPANIA: MIRACLE OF SAINT JANUARIUS
At precisely 10 o’clock Saint Januarius has melted his blood in the sacred ampoules. As every year, the Guard of Honour of the delegation of Naples and Campania was present despite the restrictions due to the pandemic. The Commander of Merit Giovanni Samo and the Knight Grand Official of Merit Dr. Luigi Andreozzi received the highest honor and privilege of representing the Order, which was the only Order of chivalry being officially invited by the Curia of Naples. The two Knights were interviewed for a long time by Miss Sarah Cozzolino, journalist of Radio Television Suisse of French-speaking Switzerland, speaking in detail of the Constantinian Order, of the many works of Charity put in place by H.R.H. the Grand Master, as well as the history of Saint Januarius and his Miracle.
NAPLES AND CAMPANIA: DONATION FOR THE CARITAS IN CASERTA
On y July 3rd headquarters of the diocesan Caritas, the Neapolitan Delegation donated some food in favour of the caritas of the city of Caserta. A group of Knights belonging to the delegation delivered 492 kilograms of pasta to the parish priest Antonello Giannotti, director of the Caritas. A sincere thanks to Knights Emiddio de Franciscis di Casanova, Enzo de Maio, Alberto Marulli, Rosa Montella, Luigi Roma and Giancarlo Rinaldi for their efforts!
Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies’ supportive birthday
His Royal Highness Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro and Head of the Royal House of Bourbon Two Sicilies, has dedicated his birthday to solidarity.
Today, February 24th, the Duke of Castro celebrates his 58th birthday and has decided to celebrate it with a gesture of solidarity in favour of the needy people.
Thanks to the support of the Delegate of Naples and Campania, Marquise Federica de Gregorio Cattaneo and the Vice Delegate of Sicily, Noble Doctor Antonio Di Janni, the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George donated many food products such as pasta, peeled tomatoes, dairy and bread, as well as large amounts of markers for children.
The food was delivered to the canteen of the poor at the Church Saint Pasquale in Naples, and on that occasion hot meals were also served to the homeless.
The stationery material was given to the children of the Magione Church in Palermo and at “Casa del Sorriso” in Monreale.
Prince Charles, who has always been very sensitive to people’ needs, expressed his desire to make his contribution through the Constantinian Order and the donation of these materials, in a particularly difficult period for the community.
