NAPLES AND CAMPANIA: H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies visits the Royal Monte Manso di Scala Foundation

On Monday, May 22nd, the Duke of Castro visited the Royal Monte Manso di Scala Foundation, where he was welcomed by the Noble Governor Don Fabrizio Cattaneo della Volta, already appointed as Knight of Justice of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, who, together with the Secretary Antonio Caputo, accompanied the Duke of Castro in his visit to the Foundation, showing the initiatives and projects that the Foundation promotes in the cultural, social and educational fields.
His Royal Highness walked along Via San Biagio dei Librai, receiving warm greetings in his way to reach the Royal Monte Manso di Scala. H.R.H. was accompanied on this occasion by the Delegate for Naples and Campania, Donna Federica de Gregorio Cattaneo, and numerous Knights and Dames, including Don Leopoldo de Gregorio Cattaneo, Leonetti di Santo Janni, Buccino Grimaldi, Elena Aceto di Capriglia, Emiddio de Franciscis, Giancarlo Rinaldi. The walk was an opportunity for Prince Charles to get in touch with the population, listening to their stories and sharing moments of joy and sincere affection.
During the visit, the Prince paused in particular at the Church of Monte Manso, which, while being in an unusual location in a single floor of a building, is of considerable size and represents a significant place of worship. In fact, the Church is exactly superimposed on the famous Sansevero Chapel.

On Monday May 22nd, H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro and Head of the Royal House, went to the Basilica of Santa Chiara in order to pray on his ancestors’ graves, especially his parents’, buried together with the Kings of Naples and the Two Sicilies, in the Royal Chapel of the Bourbon Family.
King Francis II, for whom the process of beatification is underway, also rests in the Royal Chapel. He is now resting in Santa Chiara thanks to the generous commitment of H.R.H. Prince Ferdinand of Bourbon, Father of the current Duke of Castro, who proceeded to transfer the remains of the last King to the Royal Chapel.
On this occasion the Duke of Castro appointed Father Giuseppe Sorrentino, Provincial of Santa Chiara, Knight of the Order. The Prince was accompanied on the occasion by the Delegate Federica de Gregorio Cattaneo and the Knight Angelo Giovanni Marciano.

On saturday, May 6th the historic and solemn Procession and Mass in Honor of San Gennaro, Patron Saint of Naples and Campania, was held. The Knights Grimaldi (father and son), De Angelis, Amaddeo and the Dame Sannino, upon authorization of the Marquise Federica Cattaneo De Gregorio, Delegate of Naples and Campania, participated in the solemn Mass in honor of the Patron Saint celebrated for the sacred event by the Archbishop of Naples Domenico Battaglia.
The Miracle of the liquefaction of blood occurred at 17.00 when the Saint crossed the porch of Saint Chiara after having walked the alleys of the city.
After the ceremony, Dame Sannino and the Knights Grimaldi, De Angelis and Amaddeo paid homage to the Royal tombs of the Sovereigns of Bourbon of the Two Sicilies with a prayer which was also joined by the actress Valeria Vaiano of the famous Neapolitan fiction of “Un Posto al Sole”.

On May 6th, at the Nunziatella Military School, the traditional delivery of the Splint was held and also the Maria Carolina Scholarship of Bourbon Two Sicilies was delivered.
The Commander of the School, Starred Colonel, our Commander of Merit, together with the Delegate for Naples and Campania Donna Federica de Gregorio Cattaneo, has delivered the Scholarship for a particularly deserving student.
A grand ball was held at the Royal Palace of Naples in the presence of the highest military authorities of the Italian army.

The Knights and Dames of the Naples and Campania delegation purchased at the AIRC and subsequently donated a large amount of Easter eggs to children.

On friday, April 7th, Holy Friday, Dame Nunzia Sannino, Knight Luigi De Angelis and Knight Carlo Ventre of the delegation of Naples and Campania participated in the historic procession on Holy Friday in Procida in order to escort the wooden statue of the Dead Christ and Our Lady of Sorrows.
Participation in the historic procession on Holy Friday was requested by official invitation, through Dame Nunzia Sannino and with the permission of the Marquise De Gregorio, directly by Matteo Germiniario, Prior of the Congregation of the Immaculate Conception of the Turks.
Dame Sannino, Knight De Angelis and Knight Ventre departed at dawn from the port of Naples to be at 7.00 in Procida for the beginning of the procession and escort the Statue of the Dead Christ and Our Lady of Sorrows together with the Police for the entire journey until the port and from the port to the Abbey of San Michele.

The Via Crucis and the Holy Mass of suffrage for H.R.H. Prince Don Ferdinando of Bourbon Two Sicilies, former Grand Master of the Order, was also held.

The feast of Saint George Martyr was celebrated by the American Delegation with the entry of 21 new Knights and Dames. The investiture ceremony took place in the historic Dominican parish in New York, the Church “San Vincenzo Ferreri”, with the participation not only of the new Knights but also of many Knights and Dames from many other American cities. H.E. Mgr. Arthur Serratelli, Vice Prior of the Delegation and Knight Grand Cross of Ecclesiastical Grace, presided over the Solemn Pontifical, after the investiture. It was concelebrated by the other Vice Prior, Father Edmund Luciano, Knight Officer of Ecclesiastical Grace. The investiture ceremony followed, presided over by the Delegate, Grand Officer John Viola, of 3 Knights of the Royal Order of Francis I, and the promotion of a confrere to Knight Grand Cross of the same Order, with the participation of over 100 people at the town Foundation “christopher columbus”. Then, the “Dinner for San George” took place with Neapolitan musical entertainment.

The Sicilian delegation celebrated Saint George, patron saint of the Order, in Piana degli Albanesi.

In addition, Father Saverio Cento celebrated a Mass for the Solemnity of S. George at the Sanctuary of S. Francesco di Paola in Milazzo.

A group of Knights from Calabria took part in the solemn Eucharistic celebration in memory of Saint George on 23rd of April in Reggio Calabria, in the Parish of Santa Maria della Candelora.

The Noble Knights and Dames resident in Palermo gathered in prayer in the Constantinian Cathedral of the Mansion celebrating the feast of Saint George.
