SICILY: THE ACTIVITIES OF THE PROJECT “BRICIOLE DI SALUTE” CONTINUE

On December 22th, a donation took place in the presence of the Knights of Enna, Piazza Armerina and Barrafranca. The delivery of food and health equipment for children was personally led by Father Dario Pavone and Knights Matteo Bertino, Milazzo Marco, Virone Elio and Fazzi Claudio. Father Dario Pavone sincerely thanked the Vice Delegate for the excellent work he has done over the years.

On December 22nd, the Sicilian delegation offered 300 kg of pasta to needy families in the district of Guadagna (Palermo). The Vice Delegate handed over the products to the director of the Confraternity, who also manages the old Bourbon church. The church has always maintained a close link with the Royal House of Bourbon Two Sicilies. Indeed, several decorations, the wooden altar, the lectern and some wooden candelabras donated by H.R.H. Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duchess of Castro, can be found inside it.

On December 2nd, the activities of the “Briciole di Salute” project were carried out in favour of the Franciscan Sisters who manage the Diocesan Reception House “Sacra Famiglia”. Knights Antonino Smiroldo and Tony Zarrillo delivered various food packages for the guests of the structure. After the distribution, the knights and the nuns gathered to pray.

On December 3rd, according to tradition, the Sicilian delegation participated in the Holy Mass of Saint Francis at the church “San Francesco di Paola” in Palermo. Vice Delegate Antonio di Janni and Mrs. Patrizia Biagi. attended on behalf the entire delegation. The religious ceremony was presided by Father Saverio Cento and concelebrated by Fathers Giorgio Terrasi and Antonio Porretta.

On October 8th, the Vice Delegate Antonio di Janni delivered some products for 30 children assisted by the “Casa del Sorriso”, which is directed by Franciscan Father Francesco. Mrs. Nicoletta, a volunteer of the structure, welcomed the Delegate. The monthly donations fort breakfast are donated by the Sicilian delegation and the sandwiches for the school are donated by the Tuscan delegation.

Mr. Pietro Francesco Mistretta, Antonio Fundarò and Mario Vitiello participated in another donation of the project “Briciole di Salute”, in which health devices, milk, homogenized were delivered at the Mother Church of Alcamo.

On October 10th, the Vice Delegate gave the Archpriest of Carini, Father Giacomo Sgroi, some nurseries that will be used by the Caritas of the parish.

On October 10th, H.R.H. Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Grand Prefect, accompanied by a friend of hers and by Noto’s reference Marcello Cantone, has delivered food aid at the convent of the Little Brothers and Sisters, who look after Saint Corrado’s canteen in Noto.

On September 2nd, the first distribution of products for children took place at the Maria SS degli Agonizzanti Church in Monreale. This donation is part of the “Briciole di Salute” project. The Vice Delegate Antonio Di Janni, assisted by volunteers Lia Giangreco and Sonia Lo Monaco, distributed diapers, baby food, cookies, milk, pasta and clothes.

On September 3rd, H.R.H. Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Grand Prefect, accompanied by the representative for the city of Noto Marcello Cantone, delivered around 100 cans of tuna to the Little Brothers and Sisters of Jesus and Mary. This donation will help Saint Corrado canteen. Mr. Cantone and Sister Teresa of the monastic community welcomed Princess Beatrice.

On the same date, H.R.H. Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies was received by the Bishop of Noto, H.E. Rev. Mgr Antonio Staglianò. The Grand Prefect, accompanied by the representative for the city of Noto Marcello Cantone, discussed with the bishop about the critical economic situation that hit the city of Noto and the help that the Constantinian Order of Saint George could provide, in particular in favour of the canteen of Saint Corrado, which will resume its service after September 15th.

Even in August, the assistance provided by the delegations of Sicily and Tuscany has continued, in particular in favour of the structure “la Casa del Sorriso”, which shelters about thirty children belonging to families at risk. On August 10th, cookies were offered for breakfast, prepared by volunteer Enza Pizzolato in her pastry shop in Alcamo and many other cookies were donated by the Tuscan delegation.

On August 10th, the vice delegate and Mrs. Lia Giagreco gave some products for children to Father Bernardo, head of Caritas of the Benedictine convent of S. Martino delle Scale. This distribution will help some needy children assisted by Benedictine fathers.
