Delegation of Sicily

On June 12th, the vice delegate delivered numerous packages of milk to the parish S. Francesco di Paola in Palermo. Father Giorgio Terrasi welcomed the vice delegate who was carrying these products of the project Briciole di Salute.

The VEGAS company based in Paris donated several hundred pieces of women’s clothing to the Sicilian delegation. On June 15h the vice delegate began distributing these clothes by handing them over to the parish priest Msgr. Salvatore Grimaldi and to the Caritas volunteer Mrs. Loredana.

On May 31st, after receiving the invitation by Father Emanuele Nicotra, parish priest of the church of Santa Maria La Stella, a representation of the Order participated in the Sunday Eucharistic Liturgy. After more than 17 months of closure due to the earthquake that struck the region in December 2018, the church, thanks to contributions from the municipality and the citizens, has reopened. Mr. Uccio Arena and Mr.Tony Zarrillo attended the celebration.

On June 3rd, Mr. Tony Zarrillo went to the Diocesan House of the Holy Family in Patti for the delivery of basic necessities which will be distributed to the needy people. In addition, he joined confreres Salvatore Mangione, Davide Gentile and Placido Salamone for another donation to the local Caritas centre; subsequently, they went to the curia to greet the local ecclesiastical authorities.

On May 13th, some products were delivered in Carini, Archdiocese of Monreale. Mr. Giulio Pilitteri, on behalf of the delegation, delivered homogenized and diapers to archpriest Giacomo Sgroi.

On May 14th a distribution of food, clothing, shoes and toys for children aged 0-3 was held in Barrafranca.

On May 13th, the first distribution of the month took place in Monreale. The vice delegate and two volunteers, Lia Giangreco and Sonia Lo Monaco, delivered homogenized products, diapers, milk, pasta, baby milk and clothes for children.
