img_7807PALERMO AND NOTO – Many charitable activities were carried out by the Sicilian Delegation during the month of November.
On the evening of 23 November, volunteers of the “Constantinian Angels”, led by Vice Delegate Nobile Dott. Antonio di Janni, met in Piazza Ignazio Florio and proceeded toward the “darkest” areas of the city, searching for homeless in need of aid and support.
The patrol helped 35 homeless, providing them with sacks of food but also, and especially, the human care and attention that is so important to us all.
The Delegation was also active in the initiative “Crumbs of Health”, distributing over 100 liters of milk, 300 containers of baby food, 80 kilos of pastina, as well as diapers, sugar, tomato sauce and cookies in Noto, in the Constantinian Church of Maria SS degli Agonizzanti of Monreale and in the Basilica of St. Francis of Paola.
The next distribution will take place on December 14, 2016.

PALERMO – DONATION OF ELECTROCARDIOGRAPH TO THE BASILICA OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY LA MAGIONE

10Palermo, Sunday 30 October 2016 – The Metropolitan Archbishop of Palermo, H.E. Mons. Corrado Lorefice, celebrated a solemn mass to welcome Mons. Salvatore Grimaldi, Ecclesiastical Knight Commander of Grace of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George as he assumes his new post as parish priest of the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity La Magione.
The work of the Constantinian Knights dates to 1783 when H.M. Ferdinand II, King of the Two Sicilies, Grand Master of the Order, entrusted the Church to the care of the Order, creating the Commenda of La Magione, to whom he granted privileges and possessions.
Today, as in the past, the Knights continue to provide assistance to the needy of the parish: on this occasion the Delegation donated a portable electrocardiograph and provided for periodic cardiologic examinations thanks to the collaboration of the Knights and Dames of the Order who are physicians.
Attending the event were the Vicar Delegate of Switzerland, Baroness Maria Hélèna di Giacomo di Giampaolo, T.R.H. Prince and Princess Guillame of Luxemburg and their children, H.R.H. Princess Miriam di Tirnovo and her children.
