On January, 27th 2018 the Delegation of Piedmont celebrated the beatified Maria Cristina, Queen of Two Sicilies, at St. Giovannino Church in Alessandria.
At the beginning of the liturgy the Rapresentative of the city, Mr. Roberto Piccinini, greeted all those who were present on behalf of the Vice Delegate of Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta, Mr. Mario Baschirotto, and explained the profile and the actions carried out by “the Holy Queen”, Victor Emmanuel I of Savoy’s daughter. Maria Cristina became Quen after marrying to Ferdinand II of Two Sicilies.
Then Mr. Piccinini read the official gratitude message the Diocesan Caritas of the city adressed to the delegation itself when food and other products were donated during Christmas. The donation was used for the Christmas lunch where hundreds of needy people participated.
The celebration was chaired by Don Augusto Piccoli.
