FRANCE: SOLEMN LITURGY IN PARIS

On June 12th, in the presence of HRH Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Grand Prefect of the Order, a Chapter Mass of the French delegation was celebrated by the chaplain of the delegation, Father Thierry Laurent, at St. Roch Church. Knights and Dames were then invited to meet and the delegate, Mr. Camille Pascal, took advantage of this moment to recall the works of the delegation. He also anticipated the preparation of a forthcoming trip to Strasbourg to visit Monseigneur Ravel, Archbishop of Strasbourg and Prior of the French delegation.

On May 13th, 2019, twenty new Knights and Dames were admitted in the French delegation during a solemn mass which took place at the Saint-Roch church in Paris.

The liturgy was chaired by His Excellency the Most Reverend Monseigneur Luc Ravel, Archbishop of Strasbourg and Prior of the French Delegation. The investiture Mass was enriched by the presence of His Royal Highness the Duke of Castro, Head of the Royal House and Grand Master of the Order.

His Royal Highness the Grand Master has conferred the collar of the Order and the dignity of Knight of the Royal Order of Saint Januarius to the Count of Paris and has accepted the Countess of Paris in the Constantinian Order of Saint George. Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Grand Prefect of the Order, His Imperial Highness Prince Napoleon, as well as His Serene Highness Prince Charles-Henri of Lobkowicz attended the ceremony . The presence of a delegation of the Sovereign Order of Malta was also noted. Thanks to the benevolent support of Msgr. Thierry Laurent, chaplain of the French Delegation and pastor of the parish of Saint-Roch, Mr. Camille Pascal, Delegate of our Order for France, was able to hand their Constantinian mantle to the petitioners, especially to the Duke of Castries, the Vicomte de Rohan and the Countess Charles-Henri du Luart. Mr. Stéphane Bern, who was already a member of the Order, was promoted to Commander of Merit with star.

April 13rd, 2019 – Knights and Dames of the French delegation accompanied a group of ten children from the parish of Bondy (Seine Saint Denis) for a visit to the Museum of the Legion of Honor on April 13rd, 2019. They were able to discover the history of the Legion of Honor as well as the chivalric orders.

April 5th, 2019 – A day of recollection took place at La Chapelle du Calvaire in Saint Roch Church for the petitioners of the French delegation of the Order. The Prior of the French delegation, Bishop Ravel, emphasized the importance of religion in our order and asked all knights and dames to participate in the works carried out by the delegation. Then the floor was given to the delegate, Mr. Camille Pascal, who recalled the origins and importance of Labarum in the Order. Finally, the two project leaders of the works of the delegation gave an update on the progress of the delegation’s activities. Afterwards the knights and dames gathered at Curé d’Ars’s room to spend a convivial moment with the attendants.

Some Knights and Dames of the French delegation accompanied a group of twenty children aged from 8 to 11 years old of the parish Bondy (Seine Saint Denis) for a visit to the Louvre on March 9th, 2019. Split into two groups, each led by a Knight, they were able to discover the foundations of the medieval castle and also discovered the rooms dedicated to ancient Egypt, interspersed with statues, hieroglyphs, sarcophagi, mummies and movable objects. This cultural outing, followed by a snack in the Napoleon courtyard, was an opportunity to create a link with these suburban children.
