CEREMONY INVESTITURES NEW RIDERS

Friday, May 15, 2015. During a Mass at the Basilica of Sant’Abbondio, Como Cathedral, officiated by H.E. the Archbishop Monsignor Oscar Rizzato, on behalf of His Eminence Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino, Grand Prior of the Order, he proceeded to the investiture of new Knights of the Delegation of Como, Pavia, Lodi, Bergamo and Brescia, Asti and Alessandria, and Milano at the presence of H.E. the Grand Prefect,  the Ambassador Augusto Ruffo di Calabria.

In honor of the Grand Prefect, the Representative of Como, the Noble Dr Giuseppe Rizzani, Knight of Grace, offered a breakfast to all theauthorities  participating at the event in the Hall Constantine in the Odescalchi Palace.

In the Church of Our Lady of Consolation at the Castle, on the occasion of Christmas, the Prior of the Delegation of Lombardy Archbishop Arnaldo Morandi, the President of the Opera San Francesco, Father Maurizio Annoni and Canon of the Holy Sepulcher Monsignor Pierantonio Bodini have concelebrated the Mass.

Present, along with numerous Knights and Dames, the Grand Prefect Augusto Ruffo di Calabria, the Grand Inquisitor Prince Fabrizio Colonna, the Delegate of Lombardy Count Alessandro di Carpegna Brivio and the representatives of Brescia, Como, Pavia and Lodi.

In the following  convivial meeting, to meet the goal of care of our Order “The hunger of our neighbour” were collected offerings for the Society of St. Francis, the  institution of Milan that helps the needy and provides 3,000 meals a day.

“The hunger of our neighbour” is the  and humanitarian  project that the Order wants to pursue, coordinating all his strength, through the work of all Delegations, in Italy and in all over the world.

Our “neighbour” is to be understood in the evangelical sense of the term,  our “neighbour ” are those persons who live around us in need  and often no one notices their problem.

It’s in fact required to the  Constantinian Knights to contribute to the basic needs of these persons  in deference to the Christian spirit that must inspire every Knight.

Brescia, 19 September 2011. Brescia Knights and Dames were invested into the Order of Saint George in the old Cathedral the delivery of the Labarum.
Guardian of the Treasure of the Holy Cross, Brescia deserved an official presence of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, born in 312 after the battle of the Milvian Bridge, faught and won with the insignia of Christianity. As of Monday 19th, during a solemn celebration in the Duomo Vecchio,the new provincial representation of the Order will be set up with the delivery of the Labarum and the investiture of a group of Knights and Dames who have pledged to give continuity to a tradition dating back to the Christian roots of Europe, through charitable works and cultural initiatives, for the propagation of the faith and the glorification of the Cross.

It was Emperor Constantine who invested the first 50 Knights, giving rise to the oldest of orders of chivalry and sanctioned with the edict of 313 A.C. on the freedom of worship for Christians. The leadership of the order transmitted by hereditary dynastic law, is now entrusted to Prince Charles of Bourbon-Two Sicilies: the Grand Master will be joined in the ceremony of the handing of the Labarum by the designated representative Don Armando Morandi, by Ambassador Antonio Benedetto Spada, Grand Treasurer, and by Lombardy Delegate Augusto Ruffo di Calabria.
Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino, Grand Prior of the Order, will chair at 5 pm in the Duomo Vecchio the Eucharistic co-celebration with the participation of the Bishop, Monsignor Luciano Monari and the Emeritus Auxiliary Bishop Monsignor Vigilio Mario Olmi. The ceremony, open to all citizens, will be preceded by the extraordinary exhibition of the Treasure of the Holy Crosses.
