Rome, 6 May 2025 – On the occasion of the Feast of Our Lady of Pompeii, His Most Reverend Eminence Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, Grand Prior, has prepared a message for all Knights and Dames:
Dearest Knights, Dames, and Meritorious Members of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George,
As the 8th of May approaches, the liturgical commemoration of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Holy Rosary of Pompeii, I feel particularly moved to address each of you and share a message of devotion, unity, and prayer.
Our Lady of Pompeii is the Heavenly Patroness of the Royal House of Bourbon Two Sicilies, now under the guidance of H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro, Grand Master of our Order. She is likewise invoked as Patroness of our chivalric Order.
May this Marian solemnity, so dear to the spiritual tradition of our Constantinian family, be an occasion to renew our Christian commitment to charity, evangelical witness, and fidelity to the ideals that unite us, summed up in the ancient motto: In hoc signo vinces.
I therefore invite you to join in the recitation of the Supplication to Our Lady of Pompeii, as desired by Blessed Bartolo Longo, confident that Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary, will not fail to offer her maternal intercession for the path of our Order and for the needs of the Church and the whole world.
A special thought I wish to extend at this moment to the College of Cardinals, who will enter the Conclave starting on May 7th. I ask you to accompany this time of discernment and grace with fervent and trusting prayer, so that the Holy Spirit may enlighten and guide the Cardinal Fathers in their great responsibility in service to the universal Church.
I entrust each of you to the protection of the Virgin of Pompeii and I wholeheartedly bless you in the Risen Lord.
