SICILY: END OF JANUARY/ BEGINNING OF FEBRUARY 2025 ACTIVITIES

On Sunday the 2nd of  February, on the feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, the Knights of the Delegation of Sicily participated in a religious function at the Abbey of San Martino delle Scale. The liturgy, presided over by Prior Father Mariano Colletta, was also attended by the Grand Prefect, H.R.H Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies. During his homily, the Prior recalled that the blessing of the candles symbolises the light of Jesus that illuminates people. At the end of the Mass, the Delegation donated to the Abbey a 17th century painting depicting the Madonna of Trapani. The painting was delivered to the Prior by H.R.H the Grand Prefect and the Vicar Delegate Noble Antonio di Janni. The Prior also thanked the Delegation on behalf of the Most Reverend Father Abbot Father Vittorio Rizzone. Afterwards, Princess Beatrice and the Knights participated in a fraternal agape in the refectory, enjoying delicacies prepared by the Benedictine monks.

On Friday the 31st of January, H.R.H the Grand Prefect delivered the parchment to General Angelo Colucciello, Commander of the Police of Palermo, accrediting him as Knight Officer. The Vice Delegate Antonio di Janni, the Chancellor Claudio Ragusa and the Assessor Dario Falzone were present at the cremony.

On the 26th of January 2025, a Holy Mass was celebrated in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lourdes at the Church of San Cataldo in Enna, during which the relic of Saint Bernadette was presented. The ceremony was attended by the Knights of the Delegation of Sicily, led by the Vice Delegate, together with the Chancellor and Commander Gasperino Como.
