“The Elephant Village” in Chonburi province, cultural and recreational attraction, once visited by thousands of visitors in pre-COVID times and now deserted, is appealing to donation for food and medicines for the elephants and other animals due to the rather severe situation.
The Delegation, in remembrance of World Elephant Day, an international annual event which falls on August 12, dedicated to the preservation and protection of the world’s pachyderms, has provided some support, being aware that, with the collapse of the tourism industry due to the pandemic, animals have been impacted as well and more than 1,000 elephants are now at risk of starvation. The Delegate and the Vice Delegate have been warmly welcomed by Khun Lukpad Purimprach, the executive manager.
