SOUTH EAST ASIA: DONATION IN BANGKOK

Bangkok, August 9th, 2021 – Since the pandemic started early last year Thailand, the record high of Covid-19 cases in a single day was the 21,838 reported on Saturday, August 7. The most deaths that occurred in 24-hour period was 212, also reported on Saturday. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has adjusted its active case finding services to enable the public access the testing as much as possible to cope with the spread of COVID19. Therefore, the Ministry of Public Health this month has approved the sale of self-test kits at chemists, in order to delegate some easy duties to people such as Covid-self testing, and allow home isolation for patients with few symptoms.

Now the antigen test kits are sought after and quickly disappearing from the market.

The long awaited Covid-19 self-test kits are welcome as they will allow people to get tested easier, faster and in more affordable way. This helps health officers identify cases more quickly and, in return, reduce the chances of infected people spreading the disease.

Mister Aswin Techajareonvikul, Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Order Francis I, and his spouse Madam Thapanee Techajareonvikul née Sirivadhanabhakdi, Dame Commander of the Royal Order of Francis I, have promptly provided 20 sets very useful for emergency use, received by the Delegate with gratitude.
