Bangkok, November 29th, December 1st, 2022 – The Vice Delegate, in her capacity of Designated Representative to United Nations – Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, upon invitation by the Committee on Environment and Development (CED), joined the “7th Session of the Committee on Environment and Development at the Ministerial level” under the theme “Protecting our Planet through Regional Cooperation and Solidarity in Asia and the Pacific”.
CED is convened every two years to review regional trends, identify priorities for action, promote dialogue, consider common regional positions.
The Vice Delegate also had the chance to meet Mister Lorenzo Santucci, Italian national who holds the High Charge of Secretary of the Commission, Office of the Executive Secretary, and handled him a souvenir as a sign of respect on behalf of the Grand Magistry.
Dame Commander Paola Benaglia also visited the Transport Division offices at UNESCAP welcomed by Mister Sélim Denoux, Research Fellow.
The 7th Session was attended by High Officers from all over the Region representing Fiji Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kazakhstan’s Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources Ministry, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport and so on.
The Ministerial Declaration was adopted, a great achievement also through a really appreciated work of Madam Huda Shareef, Deputy Ambassador of the Maldives in Thailand, who operated as Facilitator for the consultations with Member States.
