On July 8, the Calabria Delegation began the traditionally dedicated month of prayers in honor of the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ Our Lord with a generous donation of food and basic necessities. The beneficiaries of this act of solidarity were the Community of Parishes of St. John the Baptist, St. Nicholas of Bari and St. Rocco, located in Gioiosa Ionica (RC). The food items donated included a wide range of products, including pasta, canned goods, legumes, oil, sugar, snacks, fruit juices and many other basic necessities. These food items will be distributed to the needy families in the parishes, providing them with concrete and immediate support. Parish priest Father Francesco Passarelli, Caritas volunteers and some members of the community attended the donation.
Bishop Monsignor Serafino Parisi has already been holding the diocese of Lamezia Terme for two years. Into his hands, and those of the Caritas Diocesan director Father Fabio Stanizzo, a representation of the Delegation of Calabria delivered a wheelchair that Caritas will in turn donate to a disabled member of the diocese.
Welcomed into the Bishop’s Palace located in Nicastro, Knights Carlo Parisio, Roberto Bendini, Pasquale Lagamba and Antonio Oliverio were present on behalf of the Delegation of Calabria.
On August 3, the Calabria Delegation organized a day devoted to the Faith of spiritual growth through a religious and cultural-historical journey held in Lungro, Acquaformosa, San Donato di Ninea and Policastrello, in the province of Cosenza.
