“Strictly simulated FOX HUNT” TO HELP POOR FAMILIES

“Strictly simulated FOX HUNT” TO HELP POOR FAMILIES

Novara, 17th April 2016.  One of the most traditional equestrian events, which has been deeply rooted in England since the end of the XVIII century, was carried in the countryside around Novara.

The Fox Hunt”, which nowadays is strictly a virtual event, evokes that flavour which combines tradition with passion for the equestrian discipline, where male and female riders put to the test the capacities and qualities of their own horse in an enjoyable country ride that involves overcoming natural and artificial hurdles.

An event which is by no means gory but, on the contrary, in complete harmony with our times that wish to see nature respected, with its flora and fauna, thus ensuring that it plays a leading role.  The Foxhounds with their horse friends play a prominent role in creating the most perfect ambiance.

The event, organized by the Representation of Novara and V.C.O. of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George and of the Milanese Association for hunting on horseback, has had as its starting point the Castello di Morghengo, a charming medieval castle.

The objective of this historical initiative is to create a bond between sport and solidarity.  All the participants (male and female riders) had contributed to the event their caps which will be donated to the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George to purchase basic food items for the poor families of Novara.

Monreale, 6th April 2016.  On the 6th April in the afternoon, as is customary, food items consisting of milk, small pasta, homogenized baby food and biscuits, as well as diapers, were donated in Monreale as part of the “New Fragments of Health” project involving the Vice Delegate of the Delegation of Sicily, Nobile Dott. Antonio Di Janni, Knight Grand Cross of Grace, as well as Knights Carmelo Sammarco and Salvatore Vassallo, Dr. Lia Giangreco and volunteers who handed these essential items to 35 underprivileged families with children between the age of 0 to 3 years.

This charitable event was an opportunity to listen to a moving and joyful testimony of solidarity from a person who for many months was being assisted by the humanitarian project of the Constantinian Order in Sicily.  This person thanked the Knights for their continued generosity in assisting the most needy and informed them that as of next month, she would no longer be depending on the support programme because after all these years she had managed to find a job and would therefore leave her place to another more needy family.
