TUSCANY: ACTIVITIES IN APRIL

Avenza (MS), April 15th, 2022 – A group of Tuscan Knights participated in the traditional Way of the Cross that took place along the main roads of the city of Avenza.

San Gimignano (SI), April 23, 2022. The Tuscan Delegation solemnly celebrated the feast of Saint George at the Basilica Santa Maria Assunta in San Gimignano.
The pontifical celebration was presided by the Prior of the Delegation H.E. Monsignor Simone Giusti.
Count Ranieri Gastone Adorni Braccesi, Delegate for Tuscany, also attended the Mass.

Esq. Massimiliano Masia, Delegate of Sardinia, participated in the Feast of Saint George in Ovodda (Nuoro) since he had been invited by the entire local community.
The day of celebrations on April 23 included the participation of the Delegate and the entire community in the liturgical acts, which culminated with the procession in the town.

The Cathedral of Caserta, dedicated to Saint Michael and inaugurated in 1842 by Bishop Domenico Narni Mancinelli in the presence T.M. Ferdinand II and Maria Teresa, welcomed the Knights of the delegation of Naples and Campania who participated in the liturgy in honour of Saint George. Bishop Luigi Castiello celebrated the Mass.

On April 23rd, feast of Saint George, the delegation of Emilia Romagna donated more than 100 bags (with the logo of the Order) containing food products for families in difficulty. A gesture of generosity that is part of the activity of the delegation, which has among its objectives that of supporting the community with concrete actions.
The delivery of the aid took place at the Library of the Convent in Piacenza. Many Knights attended with the Friars, Father Secondo Ballati and the Prior Stefano Antonelli.

AMERICAN KNIGHTS AND DAMES HONOR SAINT GEORGE

Although the Solemnity of the Second Sunday of Easter took precedence, American knights and dames gathered to honor their patron, St. George the Martyr, on his usual feast day of April 23 with an evening Mass. The Mass was celebrated by the subprior of the American Delegation, Rev. Uff. Edmund Luciano, at the Church of Saint Mary of Mount Virgin (Visitation Parish) in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Following the Mass, the knights and dames (some who had come from across the country) celebrated with a festive meal at a nearby restaurant.
