CHRISTMAS IN THE VICE DELEGATION OF LAZIO

Minturno, December 2015.  In December 2015 the Vice Delegation of Lazio put in place a series of activities for the most deprived persons in compliance with the humanitarian project strongly advocated by our beloved Grand Master, namely “The hunger suffered by our neighbour”. With the help of some Knights, significant amounts of foodstuffs were purchased and distributed by volunteers of the deprived families in cooperation with Caritas of the Southern Lazio Diocese. Another important initiative, carried out with the help of the Pharmacy owned by the Delegate’s Spouse, Dame of the Grand Cross of Merit, Dr. Rosalba Pietroluongo, consisted in the collection of medicinal products and early-childhood products donated to a Family Home that takes care of single, needy mothers and their children. For this special moment of Christmas, the Delegation promoted, jointly with the St. Peter’s Association of Minturno, a series of musical events in St. Peter’s Cathedral such as a Concert of the “Small Wind Orchestra”, made up of children and young people; a concert of opera music “Voices on the Eve” and a production of Church Choirs of the Aurunco district (Southern Lazio and Northern Campania, once a Province of the Two Sicilies of the Terra di Lavoro) in which will also participate the Choir of the Constantinian Chapel of St. Peter’s Cathedral.

The retreatl will be in memory of our beloved Prior Don Elio who,  before leaving this earthly world,  recommended to go on with  this  tradition,  lasting from more than  ten years, by  choosing as  theme of the retreat the last encyclical of His Holiness Pope Francis: “Laudato Si”.

We will be  accompanied y during this  journey of faith by the Reverend Father Abbot and the Benedictine fathers who will be delegated by him, as well as by  our dear Brother Deacon, Don Vincenzo Testa, and the Chaplain.
