DONATION FOR THE VATICAN ELEMOSINERY AND SOME NATIONAL CARITAS

On November 23rd the Constantinian Order carried out a donation for the Vatican in the presence of His Eminence Cardinal Konrad Krajewski.
For this occasion, the Constantinian Order involved some of its national delegations, including Campania, Lombardy, Tuscany and Triveneto, that actively participated in the event through the supply of basic products.

Specifically, the materials that have been donated are:

clothes for men and women
Shoes
Diabetic medical aids (insulin needles, meters and test strips)
700 FPP2 masks
100 cloth masks
1,000 kg of pasta
7 wheelchairs for disabled people

In addition to the Secretary General, Dr. Giampaolo Grazian, the Delegate of Campania Marquise Federica de Gregorio Cattaneo, accompanied by Dr. Paolo Gorga and Dr. Andrea Petrone, the Delegate of Lombardy, Nob. Dr. Giuseppe Rizzani, the Delegate of Tuscany, Count Ranieri Adorni Braccesi, accompanied by the Coordinator of the delegation, Dr. Luciano Giannelli and the Vice Delegate of Triveneto, Dr. Lucio Pasqualetto, as well as Father Luigi Cannizzo, representing the Office of the Grand Prior, attended.

Furthermore, as agreed with His Eminence Cardinal Krajewski, the Constantinian Order is currently donating some 200 beds, that are all in excellent condition, to various national Diocesan Caritas. In particular, the caritas located in Cerreto Sannita, Foligno, Frosinone and Tricarico are receiving these products.

The official visit to Sicily of H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro, Head of the Royal House and Grand Master, who was accompanied by H.R.H. Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Grand Prefect and by H.R.H. Princess Maria Carolina of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duchess of Calabria and Palermo, was truly moving.

On October 27th, the Royal Family arrived in Monreale to receive the honorary citizenship which had previously been conferred to H.R.H. Princess Beatrice as well. Their Royal Highnesses, accompanied by Vice Delegate Antonio Di Janni and some knights, visited the Duomo in the company of Sister Letitia, who illustrated the history of Monreale Cathedral and explained the symbolism of the mosaics.

At the end of the visit, the Princes moved to the Town Hall where they were warmly welcomed by the Mayor Alberto Arcidiacono and by some members of the municipal council. At first, the Mayor, Prince Charles and Princess Maria Carolina discovered the commemorative plaque testifying the donation carried out by the Royal Family, a stairlift to allow disabled people to access the first floor of the town hall. Subsequently, Mayor Alberto Arcidiacono delivered Honorary Citizenship to H.R.H. the Duke of Castro.

After the ceremony, the Mayor invited Their Royal Highnesses to visit the cloister of Monreale Cathedral. Immediately after the cloister, the Family was invited to visit the Archbishop’s Palace and the splendid terrace which overlooks Palermo. The Family subsequently visited Maria SS degli Agonizzanti Church and was welcomed by Bishop Vittorio Rizzone. Princess Maria Carolina, with the help of volunteers Sonia Lo Monaco, Daniela Prestigiacomo, Antonella Zito and Mimmo Milazzo, distributed some basic products to the needy families of the area.

After having lunch at the Benedictine monastery of San Martino delle Scale, the Family went to the “Casa del Sorriso” in Monreale. The children hosted in the structure surrounded Princess Maria Carolina, who sat down with them to play together. Shortly after, Princess Maria Carolina distributed candies.

Moreover, the Royal Family went to the Oxigen gym in Palermo to offer to the disabled athletes who attend this gymnasium with tracksuits with the royal coat of arms and the names of Princesses Maria Carolina and Maria Chiara. Prince Charles and Princess Maria Carolina recalled the importance of sport in each person’s personal and relational development, developing a sense of teamwork and mutual collaboration. Princess Maria Carolina herself ventured into the game with these athletes.

His Royal Highness the Grand Master is united in grief at the death of His Most Eminent Highness, Fra’ Matthew Festing, Prince and Grand Master Emeritus of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, on November 12.

The 79th Prince and Grand Master, Fra’ Matthew Festing had a long collaboration with the Constantinian Order: having been named a Knight of Justice in 1991, he was then promoted to the rank of Knight Grand Cross in 1994, and was later an active member of the Council of the Order’s Great Britain and Ireland Delegation from 2002-2009.

In 2009, H.R.H. the Duke of Castro further honored him by conferring the greatest honor of the Order, the Constantinian Collar, also naming him a Knight of the Royal Order of Saint Januarius, the most important Order of the Royal House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies.

Rome, October 28th, 2021 – On the occasion of the delivery of diplomas, the Secretary General of the Order, Dr. Giampaolo Grazian, and the Delegate of Rome and Latium, H.H. Prince Don Lelio Niccolò Orsini d’Aragona, were received by the Chief of Staff of COVI, Admiral Pier Federico Bisconti, to whom Dr. Grazian sent the greetings of H.R.H. the Grand Master. Admiral of Squad M.M. Bisconti wished to thank him and read a short message.

Count Riccardo Langosco di Langosco, Vice Delegate of the city of Rome and Prof. Massimo Barra, former president of the Italian Red Cross and the Permanent Commission of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, Representative of the city of Castelgandolfo, take part in the event as well.

During the delegation’s visit, the numerous activities carried out by this defense organization were presented, with special attention to the operation “Aquila Omnia” during which the so-called tactical transport of military personnel was carried out safely and with extreme speed. The ceremony of delivery of the diplomas then took place.

The Delegation was then offered a lunch; the Order was able to further strengthen its collaboration and relations with the Armed Forces.

DELIVERY OF DECORATIONS TO GENERAL LUCIANO PORTOLANO

Rome, October 22nd, 2021 – H.R.H. the Grand Master, accompanied by H.E. Prince Don Francesco Ruspoli, met the new Secretary General of the Defense and National Director of Armament, General Luciano Portolano, who was given the decorations of Knight Grand Cross of Merit.

During his long and prestigious career, General Portolano has participated in multiple Operations and Missions in which the Italian Armed Forces have contributed to international stability, security and peace, and to protect and safeguard vital and strategic national interests.
