Rome, 28 September 2021 – On the occasion of the 192nd anniversary of the foundation of the Royal Order of Francis I, established on 28 September 1829, H.R.H. the Duke of Castro, Head of the Royal House and Grand Master of the Dynastic Orders, sends his sincerest wishes to all the members of this important Order.

This is Order is particularly dear to H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, aimed at rewarding those who, regardless of creed, have performed particular services in the sciences, the arts, and diplomacy.

Rome, September 23, 2021 – H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro and Grand Master, together with H.E. the Most Reverend Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino, Protodeacon of Holy Roman Church and Grand Prior, with great joy express their warmest and fraternal congratulations to His Beatitude Raphaël Bedros XXI Minassian, elected Patriarch of the Armenians.
His Beatitude served as Ordinary for the Armenian Catholic Faithful of Eastern Europe, with the assignment by the Pope of the titular Episcopal See of Ceserea of Cappadocia of the Armenians and the title of Archbishop ad personam.
He has joined the Order since November 2013, when he was appointed Knight Grand Cross of Ecclesiastical Grace in the presence of Cardinal Martino.

NEW PRIOR OF THE AMERICAN DELEGATION: ARCHBISHOP SALVATORE CORDILEONE

An important development for the Constantinian Order in the United States: The Most Rev. Salvatore J. Cordileone, Metropolitan Archbishop of San Francisco, has been named by the Grand Master and Grand Prior of the Order as the prior of its American Delegation, beginning August 1, 2021, feast of St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori, Bishop and Doctor of the Church, and a historic Minor Principal Patron of the Order.

Archbishop Cordileone, 65 years old, Ecclesiastical Knight Grand Cross of Grace of the Constantinian Order, is a grandson of Sicilian immigrants, and a native of California. Ordained a priest in 1982, he was consecrated a bishop in 2002, and became archbishop of San Francisco in 2012, receiving the pallium the following year. A doctor of Canon Law since 1989, the Archbishop is president of the Committee on the Laity, Marriage and Family Life of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and a member of other USCCB committees. He is also a member of other Catholic boards and institutions.

The priorate of any Delegation is an important spiritual charge, carried out with the assistance of a subprior, in collaboration with the Delegate, the Office of the Grand Prior and the Grand Chancery. The American Delegation, whose origins go back to 1979 and solidified ten years later, guided by Cav. Gran Uff. John Viola, happy for the nomination of the esteemed prelate as its new prior, hopes that it will be yet another sign of its continued renewal.

On May 15th, a food donation was carried out at Saint Corrado canteen, located in Noto. H.R.H. Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Grand Prefect, accompanied by Vice Delegate Dr. Antonio di Janni, offered to the nuns and friars of the structure, various items that will be distributed to the needy. Indeed, the Sicilian delegation donated canned goods, such as tuna and tomato, but also olive oil, flour and sugar. Princess Beatrice was received by the friars and nuns who thanked her for her constant support. After the donation, they gathered in prayer.
