Bangkok, 9 March 2022 – In the frame of “The Month of Francophonie” and commemorating “International Women’s Day”, H.E. Ulpiana Lama, Chargée d’Affaires of the Embassy of Kosovo, hosted a ladies only evening with a rich program, attended by the Ambassador of Belgium, the Ambassador of Canada, the Deputy Ambassador of Kosovo, the Deputy Chief of Mission and Permanent Representative to UNESCAP of the Embassy of Malaysia, Diplomats from Luxembourg, Malaysia, Maldives; Representatives of major cultural hubs such as “Alliance Française”, “River City Bangkok – Asia’s Premier Art, Antiques and Lifestyle Center”, “Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation Under Royal Patronage”, journalists, prominent expats.
The audience was first delighted by an elegant welcome tea and conversation, followed by a piano recital with the works of French, Kosovar and Thai composers interpreted by a ten year old Thai prodigy.
The ladies then watched a movie based on a true story by a Kosovar woman director, a very realistic story of widows from a small village near Prishtina with meager income who, after waiting in vain for years for their massacred husbands to reappear, unite their simple skills to start their own business, against the village men prejudice and without losing their virtue. A message of braveness, resiliency, support and smart initiative.
H.E. Ulpiana Lama finally treated Her Guests with delicacies including Ajvar, a homemade pepper paste, key element of the movie itself.
