THE ACTIVITIES OF THE SICILY DELEGATION CONTINUE

During the month of September, the commitment of the Sicilian Delegation continued through the numerous donations of the “Briciole di Salute” project. In particular, the towns of Monreale, Barrafranca, S. Martino delle Scale and Noto benefited from the donations, the latter in the presence of H.R.H. the Grand Prefect.

On July 31, the 58th Archbishop H.E. Mons. Gualtiero Isacchi took possession of the diocese in the Cathedral of Monreale. A group of Knights, headed by the Vice Delegate, attended the ceremony.

On September 8, Chaplain Dario Pavone returned to the house of the Lord. We will remember him for his great attachment to the Constantinian Order of Saint George and for his infinite kindness.

On Friday, September 9, a solemn mass was celebrated in Grammichele, presided by His Eminence Mons. Michele Pennisi, Archbishop Emeritus of Monreale, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his priestly ordination.

On Wednesday, September 14, the Vice Delegate donated two very rare documents from 1836 to the Basilica Magione in Palermo.

On the occasion of the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, the delegation organized solemn Eucharistic celebrations in Barrafranca, Mazara del Vallo, Messina and Palermo.

During the last few weeks, the efforts of the Sicilian Delegation have continued through the project “Briciole di Salute”. Indeed, several donations were carried out in Alcamo, San Martino delle Scale, Monreale, Carini and Cinisi.

On the occasion of his twentieth anniversary of Episcopal Ordination, His Eminence Mons. Michele Pennisi, Archbishop of Monreale and Prior of Sicily presided over a solemn mass at the Cathedral of Monreale where, in addition to the diocesan clergy, the civil, military authorities as well as a group of Knights, headed by Noble Antonio di Janni, participated.

On Sunday, July 24, on the occasion of the feast of Saint Benedetto of Nursia, the 130th edition of the celebrations in honour of the Patron was held at the Abbey of San Martino delle Scale.

His Eminence Cardinal Enrico Feroci celebrated a solemn mass on the occasion of the Feast of Corpus Domini. Some Sicilian Knights were present, led by Mr. Pietro Francesco Mistretta, representative of Alcamo, who also organized the mass.

On Wednesday, June 15th, a Holy Mass was celebrated in Mazara del Vallo, on the occasion of the Patron Saint Vito, presided over by the Bishop of the Diocese H.E. Rev.ma Mons. Domenico Mogavero. Many Sicilian Knights were present, led by Vice Delegate Antonio di Janni.

On Sunday, June 19th, the Solemnity of Corpus Domini, the Archbishop H. E. Rev. Mons. Michele Pennisi celebrated a solemn mass in the Cathedral of Monreale. Afterwards, a procession was held where some Knights of the Order participated.

On June 21st, H.R,H. Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Grand Prefect, visited the famous Cave in Alia, which has been studied for years by Prof. Carmelo Montagna.
The Grand Prefect was accompanied by her sister, H.R.H. Princess Anne of Bourbon Two Sicilies and by the Vice Delegate for Sicily Noble Antonio di Janni.

On June 29th, the Vice Delegate for Sicily Noble Antonio di Janni and the volunteer Sonia Lo Monaco donated some products for children from zero to three years belonging to disadvantaged families of Monreale.

On July 1st, the Vice Delegate for Sicily donated some products in the city of Carini. In particular, diapers were delivered to the Archpriest of Carini, Father Giacomo Sgroi.

At the end of the celebrations in honour of Saints Alfio, Filadelfio and Cirino, on May 8th a mass was celebrated and was presided over by His Eminence Mons. Giuseppe Sciacca at the Mother Church of Sant’Alfio (CT). During the liturgy, coordinated by Father Giovanni Salvia, Knights Tony Zarrillo and Giuseppe Di Gregorio were present.

On May 15th, a mass was celebrated for Saint Philip of Agira at the church S. Stefano in Piazza Armerina, in the presence of some Sicilian Knights. The Holy Mass was presided over by Father Enrico Silvio Lentini and Father Luigi Sansone.

On Wednesday, May 11st, the usual distribution of products of the project “Briciole di Salute” took place in Monreale.

On Wednesday, May 11st, a donation of products took place at the “Casa del Sorriso” association in Monreale.
