LOMBARDY: ACTIVITIES OF DECEMBER AND JANUARY

The members of the representation of Bergamo and Como, including the representative Mrs. Grillo, provided food which was served during the dinner on December 26th to around 800 disadvantaged families and homeless. The dinner took place at the former Galgario monastery of the diocesan Caritas.

Brescia, January 1st 2020 – The first day of the new year represented the symbolic start of the charitable commitments of all Knights. The lunch of January 1st, in fact, was offered and served by a group of knights in support of volunteers from the Menni canteen of the Diocesan Caritas in Brescia. The delegation, guided by Prior Arnaldo Morandi, was composed of Mr. Maurizio Mirandola with Ms. Silvana Vezzoli, Mr. Roberto Bertoli, Mr. Mario Fortunato, Mr. Fabio Serravalle, Mr. Ferrari Gualtiero. On January 1st all meals were offered by Mr. Gianni Paroni.

Nave (BS), December 27th 2019 – Mr. Maurizio Mirandola, having received a request of support from the director of the Pontifical and Salesian University “Paolo VI” of Nave, Father Erino Leoni, coordinated the delivery of 26 quintals of wood for homeless shelters.

PIEDMONT: CHRISTMAS MASS AND CHARITY DINNER

On December 14th, the Representative of Alexandria and Asti organized as usual the Christmas mass and the convivial charity dinner. This year the event was held at the abbey of “Santa Giustina” in Sezzadio (AL). The mass was celebrated by Father Augusto Piccoli, Chaplain, and concelebrated by the parish priest Father Gioia Eugenio and Father Giampaolo Civillini. A large group of Canadians of Chinese origin, who had been hosted in the residence, participated in this celebration and learned many things about the territory and the gastronomy of the region. It was also a good opportunity to make a collection of foodstuffs which will be distributed to the most needy families. The convivial dinner at the restaurant “La Cicala” in Castelnuovo Bormida ended this beautiful convivial evening.

TUSCANY: ACTIVITIES OF DECEMBER AND JANUARY

Monsummano Terme, December 14th, 2019 – A wonderful gala evening was held at the magnificent thermal complex “Grotta Giusti”. The funds that were raised will be used entirely for solidarity projects planned for 2020. The event was organized by the Tuscan delegation in collaboration with I Profumi del Marmo and Il Sogno di Costantino Onlus.

Poggio a Caiano, December 18th, 2019 – The representative for Prato, Mr. Dino Greco, on behalf of the Tuscan delegation, has delivered food packages to the Caritas of the parish Santa Cristina in Pilli that will be distribute in the community for the neediest people. The donation is part of the project “Briciole di salute”.

Avenza, January 2nd, 2020 – The representative of Massa Carrara, Mr. Angelo Ragnoni, together with Mr. Antonio Pilichi, on behalf of the Tuscan delegation, handed over to the parish priest of Maria SS. Mediatrice, Father Claudio Baleani, foodstuffs that will be distributed to the community; the donation is part of the project “Briciole di salute”.

LOMBARDY: MEETING WITH THE BISHOP OF BRESCIA

Brescia, December 20th, 2019 – The Knights of Brescia gathered for a friendly meeting before Christmas. The revenues of the event were given to the Bishop of Brescia during a private audience that the prelate, His Excellency Msgr Pierantonio Tremolada, granted to a large delegation of Knights and Dames, guided by the Prior of Lombardy Mgr Arnaldo Morandi, by the Representative of Brescia Mr. Silvestro Specchia and by the secretary of the representation Mr. Maurizio Mirandola.
