SICILY: ACTIVITIES IN AUGUST

Even in August, the assistance provided by the delegations of Sicily and Tuscany has continued, in particular in favour of the structure “la Casa del Sorriso”, which shelters about thirty children belonging to families at risk. On August 10th, cookies were offered for breakfast, prepared by volunteer Enza Pizzolato in her pastry shop in Alcamo and many other cookies were donated by the Tuscan delegation.

On August 10th, the vice delegate and Mrs. Lia Giagreco gave some products for children to Father Bernardo, head of Caritas of the Benedictine convent of S. Martino delle Scale. This distribution will help some needy children assisted by Benedictine fathers.

LOMBARDY: ACTIVITIES IN AUGUST

Mgr. Arnaldo Morandi, Secretary General of the Office of the Grand Prior, accompanied by Mgr. Pierantonio Bodini, Consultor of the Office, went on a pilgrimage to Lourdes where they were welcomed by Mr. Giannangelo Marciano, Representative of the city of Lourdes and responsible for the pilgrimages of the Constantinian Order. During the visit, which took place from August 10th to 14th, several important and fruitful meetings were scheduled, the one with Dr. Sandro de Franciscis, president of the Lourdes medical office and with Col. Daniel Pezet, President of Notre Dame de Lourdes Hospitality. Don Nicola Ventriglia, coordinator of the Italian-speaking pilgrimages, welcomed the guests with particular care, reserving for Mgr Arnaldo the presidency of the concelebration of the Holy Rosary, broadcasted on an international channel.

Brescia, August 21st, 2020 -In coordination with the Vice Delegate of Lombardy Giuseppe Rizzani, the Prior of Lombardy Arnaldo Morandi and the Secretary of the Representation Maurizio Mirandola visited the charity association “The Resource” of Brescia, which provides assistance to the homeless as well as to people and families in need. Food provided by Mr. Emilio Bertoli has been delivered.

TUSCANY: ACTIVITIES IN AUGUST

Viareggio LU, August 5th, 2020 – The Tuscan Delegation, through its Vice Delegate and Fra ‘Giovanni Scarabelli, in collaboration with the President of Civil Protection of Chiesina Uzzanese, Mr. Ivano Lucchesi, offered to the President Association Vita Franca Poggi ONLUS, dr. Alessandro Salviati, biscuits and baby diapers.

S. Martino in Freddana LU, August 7th, 2020 – The Tuscan Delegation, represented by its Vice Delegate, the Vice Prior and the Secretary, donated a significant amount of new clothes for children in need to the local Civil Protection. The president, Mr. Ivano Lucchesi, attended and was assisted by the volunteer Mrs. Maria Rosa Castelli.

Prato, August 10th, 2020 – The Tuscan delegation, through the representative for Prato and its province, with the active collaboration of Mr Giacomo Perrina and with the contribution of the President of Civil Protection Mr Ivano Lucchesi, donated food to the anti-violence center “La Nara”. The delivery of the products took place in the presence of the president of the organization, Mrs. Francesca Ranaldi. The donation is part of the “Albarosa” solidarity project.

Pisa, August 11st, 2020 – The Tuscan delegation, through the representative for the province of Pisa, assisted by Mr. Bruno Dinelli and Mr. Pietro Rubini, carried out a donation to the Association “Parents and Children Affected by Leukemia and Cancer ONLUS”.

Avenza MS, August 13th, 2020 – The Delegation of Tuscany, paying particular attention to needy families in the region, donated basic food items to the Church of Maria Santissima Mediatrice, in order to alleviate their difficulties.

Segromigno in Monte, Lucca, August 19th, 2020 – The Tuscan delegation, in collaboration with the civil protection of Chiesina Uzzanese, donated essential foodstuffs to the “solidarity canteen” of Segromigno in Monte.

PIEDMONT: ACTIVITIES IN AUGUST

On Monday August 3rd, the representative of Alessandria and Asti and the chaplain of the representation offered some medicines in Turin in the presence of Father Diego Maritano, chaplain of Turin. The donation will be in favour of the needy families in the region.

BASILICATA: MATERA HOSTS OUR KNIGHTS

Matera (MT) – The activity of our Order continues in Basilicata. An event was organized in June in Pisticci; on that occasion, food products were donated to needy families at the parish of Sant’Antonio. On July 18th, a day full of faith and solidarity took place. During this important day, a donation of food products was carried out in favour of the diocesan Caritas, where a meeting took place between the Knights and the Caritas operators, including the director Annamaria Cammisa Natale. Afterwards the Holy Liturgy was held, presided over by H.E.R. Monsignor Antonio Giuseppe Caiazzo, Archbishop of the Diocese of Matera – Irsina, at the Church of Santa Chiara whose rector is Father Luciano Micheli. It was a truly intense event where many Knights from all over the region attended and which was organized by Mr. Alcibiades Jula.
