EMILIA ROMAGNA: EVENTS IN PIACENZA AND FERRARA

On friday May 5, at the Oratory of San Dalmazio, the Knights of the delegation Emilia Romagna-Piacenza participated in the Holy Mass presided by the Vice Prior of the delegation Rev. Father Stefano Antonelli. At the end of the Eucharistic ceremony, the Appointment Diplomas were delivered by the Delegate Vicar Knight Pietro Coppelli to the new Knights in the liturgical memorial of Saint George Martyr patron of the Order. Father Stefano Antonelli brought the greetings and the blessing of the Prior of the delegation Mons. Gianni Ambrosio and read the message, addressed to all the Knights and Dames, of Cardinal Renato Raffele Martino, Grand Prior of the Order. After the recitation of the Knight’s prayer, the Prior of the Brotherhood of the Holy Spirit intervened (who deals with the preservation of the church of San Dalmazio). Architect Zumbo praised the Constantinian Order. The ceremony ended with a guided tour of San Dalmazio, in particular in the beautiful sacristy and in the suggestive and ancient crypt.

Ferrara, 26th of April 2023. Knight Davide Zamboni, coordinated with Representative Knight of Ecclesiastical Grace Father Davide Benini, delivered a pallet of confectionery products from the bakery, chocolate and other food donated by the company Red Line srl of Vigarano Mainarda (Fe) Grimaldi Wine Shop for needy families assisted by the SAV of Ferrara. The volunteers of the SAV with the President Alessandra Cescati Mazzanti and the Negrini family, owner of the donating company, were present at the delivery in addition to Knights and volunteers close to the delegation.

On the occasion of the Holy Easter, the Knights and Dames of the Delegation of Emilia-Romagna Piacenza gathered in the Library of the Convent of the Franciscans order of St Mary of the Campaign to donate more than one houndred bags (with the Order’s logo on it) containing various kind of foodstuff, destined to vunerable families. In these hard times, exacerbated by the inflaction on commodities, this concrete gesture of solidarity made by the Knights of the Order is a strong message of support to all these people and families who are going through rough times. The Vice Prior of the Delegation Father Stefano Antonelli, helped by Father Secondo Bellati, Superior of the Friars Minor and guardian of the convent, blessed the bags and said some prays together with the Knights. The Vice Delegate, Knight Pietro Coppelli, wanted to pay his respects to the Delegate Esq. Corrado Sforza Fogliani, Knight Grand Cross, who played an important role in the affirmation of the delegation in area surrounding Piacenza. The Vice Prior Father Stefano Antonelli read the letter that the Grand Prior of the Order, Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino, had sent to all Knights and Dames on the occasion of the Holy Easter.

Ferrara, February 18th 2023 – During the first months of this year we have resumed with the charity activities of our Delegation which is already coordinated by the Representative Father Davide Benini. On Saturday, February 18th, 2023, two important donations were made to the voluntary association “Servizio Accoglienza alla Vita” – SAV of Ferrara (Servizio di Accoglienza alla Vita of Ferrara), that provides assistance to mothers and families that are having an hard time. Following the requests during Christmas time, the volounteer Matteo Zaganelli donated toys, accesorizes and children’s clothes for children and their mothers. While, the Knight Davide Zamboni offered a new washing machine which will be used in the new SAV’s appartment for needy people. Also SAV’s representatives and volounteers, that took care of the gifts participated at the ceremony.

Ferrara, March 16th 2023 – A donation was made to the the voluntary association “Servizio Accoglienza alla Vita” – SAV of Ferrara, that provides help to needy mothers and families. The volounteer Matteo Zaganelli, together with the Knight Davide Zamboni and the Knight Father Davide Benini, donated toys, children’s clothes, foodstuff and, awaiting for the Holy Easter, Easter eggs and other typical Italian desserts. Furthermore, they also donated a particular lamp and some forniture for the SAV’s appartment for needy people.

On Sunday February 26 the investiture ceremony of the delegation Emilia-Romagna was held at the church of Saint George in Modena, in the presence of the Secretary General of the Order, Dr. Giampaolo Grazian.
The Vice Delegate of Emilia-Romagna, Dr. Pietro Coppelli, assisted by the Representative of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Dr. Ilario Pagani, awarded the diplomas of appointment to:
Colonel Ciro Forte, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Military Academy of Modena, Colonel Luigi Regni, Officer of the corps of the Carabinieri, Lieutenant Colonello Alessandro Dimichino, Officer of the corps of the Carabinieri, Lieutenant Paolo Lafiosca, Officer of the Italian Army.
The Holy Mass, presided by the Vice Prior of the Delegation Emilia-Romagna Father Stefano Antonelli assisted by Father Marco Falcone, military Chaplain of the Academy of Modena, was held in the beautiful seventeenth-century church of Saint George. The message from Erio Castellucci, Archbishop of Modena-Nonantola, addressed to all Knights and Dames has been read.
The Secretary General Dr. Grazian, in his speech, brought the greetings of H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies and Grand Master, pointing out the figure of the deceased Delegate Esq. Corrado Sforza Fogliani, who has done much over the years for the activity of the Order. His role is now carried out by Dr. Pietro Coppelli.
There were numerous Knights of Modena, and even from other cities, in particular from Piacenza, arrived in Modena for the occasion, as well as the Representatives of the Order, Count Giacomo Cavina Boari from Bologna, and Professor Massimo Franchi from Parma.
The ceremony in the church of Saint George was particularly appreciated by the public, even thanks to the presence of a big group of Cadets from the Military Academy of Modena. They welcomed the guests, assisted the celebrant in the liturgical function and accompanied the Holy Mass with songs and music.
Numerous distinguished guests, civil and military authorities were present, in particular the Major General Davide Scalabrin, Commander of the Military Academy of Modena and Knight of the Order, who kindly invited all participants to a guided tour at the Historical Museum of the Academy.
The Vice Delegate Dr. Pietro Coppelli, after the tour, handed over the crest of the Constantinian Order to General Scalabrin, thanking him for the hospitality.
At the end of the meeting followed a pleasant toast in the State Halls of the Military Academy.

Mons. Arnaldo Morandi, Secretary General of the Grand Prior’s office, presided over the mass in San Dalmazio in suffrage of Corrado Sforza Fogliani thirty days after his death, accompanied by Father Stefano Antonelli and Mons. Celso Dosi, respectively Vice Prior and Knight of the delegation of Emilia Romagna and by Father Davide Maloberti, director of “Il Nuovo Giornale”.
Mons. Morandi spoke to Mr. Sforza Fogliani’s wife, Maria Antonietta and to his daughter Maria Paola, renewing the Order’s grief and communicating that on the same morning Card. Martino had celebrated, in his private chapel in the Vatican, a mass in suffrage of the man that held the role of Delegate of the Order in Emilia Romagna for many years. Knights and Dames of the Order of Piacenza and other districts took part in the religious ceremony. President Giuseppe Nenna attended this ceremony on behalf of Piacenza’s Bank directors.
The Vice Delegate of Emilia Romagna Knight Pietro Coppelli has ensured continuity of action of the Regional Delegation in the path traced by Dr. Sforza Fogliani, while respecting the principles of the Catholic faith and of the acts of charity made in favour of the disvantaged people. Dr. Coppelli has expressed feelings of closeness and grief to the family on behalf of H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro, Grand Master and read a message of Mons. Gianni Ambrosio, Prior of the Delegation Emilia Romagna.
On this occasion, the honorary title of Knight Grand Cross of Grace that H.R.H. the Grand Master had assigned to Esq. Sforza Fogliani over the last months has been delivered to his wife, Prof. De Micheli, for his commitment in the valorization of the Delegation’s activities.

The appointment diploma was delivered to Commander of the Military Academy of Modena. The ceremony of investiture took place at the end of November, in the hall of honor of the Academy.
Besides of the Vice Delegate Dr. Coppelli and of the Commander, the ceremony was attended also by the Representative of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Knight Grand Cross of Merit Ilario Pagani.
Moreover, the ceremony was attended by some Knights of Modena and by the Military Chaplain of the Academy.
