Fundraising in favor of populations affected by the earthquake of August 24, 2016

Rome, August 26, 2016 – HRH Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro and Grand Master, profoundly moved by the tragic events that have taken place in central Italy, has decided to launch a fundraising initative aimed to assist the communities affected by the earthquake.
HRH The Grand Master has informed the Italian President of the Council of Ministers, Mr. Matteo Renzi, of this initiative in a letter of solidarity sent on behalf of the Royal family and the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George.
All the knights and dames are kindly invited to support this initiative by sending their donations to the following bank account:

. Dott.ssa Veronica Grillo, Representative for Bergamo, in cooperation with her Delegate, donated to the local Committee of the Italian Red Cross one thousand pieces of clothing to be distributed to the refugee families under the tutelage of the Committee.
Prior to the donation all labels were removed from the clothing and then repacked. This activity also is part of the important operation of release from seizure organized by Major Marco Salvagno, Commander of the Green Berets On-Call force of Torino, with the assistance of the Representatives for Lecco, Dott. Rogliano and Cav. Gaetano Ruocco.
Several days later, thanks to the cooperation of the Representatives for Varese, Cav. Giovanni Mattei and Dott. Valerio Palamini, the Representative for Bergamo retrieved twelve hospital beds from the RSA Foundation of Albino. These were donated to the Queen of Peace Association of Pescate (LC) and will subsequently be transferred to meet the needs of pilgrims to Medjougorie

RELIGIOUS CEREMONY IN THE SANCTUARY OF SAN GABRIELE OF OUR LADY OF SORROWS CHURCH IN COLLEDARA, ISOLA DEL GRAN SASSO, ABRUZZO

red_crossIsola del Gran Sasso, Saturday, 13 August – A religious ceremony was celebrated in the Sanctuary of San Gabriele of Our Lady of Sorrows of the Passion of Christ Congregation. Hundreds of youngsters from the tent camp attended the ceremony, an initiative of catholic apostolate promoted by the Passionist Fathers. The Holy Mass was officiated by His Most Reverend Eminence, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State for H.H. Pope Francis. The Cardinal was greeted warmly by all present and was assisted by His Most Reverend Eminence Bishop of Teramo-Atri, Mons. Michele Seccia.
Also present were various Knights from the Marche-Umbria Delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George, led by H.E. Ambassador Giuseppe Balboni Acqua, Secretary General of the chivalric institution and Head of Cabinet for H.R.H. Prince Grand Master Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro. Ambassador Giuseppe Balboni Acqua was accompanied by his family and by confrere Roberto Frittelli, Commander of the Carabinieri Lieutenancy of Falconara Marittima.
At the conclusion of the convivial affair provided by the Passionist Fathers, Ambassador Balboni Acqua conveyed the greetings of the Head of the Royal House, the Duke of Castro, and sincerely thanked the other illustrious guests, assuring the Passionist Fathers of his continued commitment to financially support the charitable initiatives underway. Special reference was made to the construction of a hospital in the Congregation’s Mission in Tanzania, in the Zenetti area of the Diocese of Tanga. The clinic will provide medical care to approximately 50,000 people in the eastern area of the country, including various rural villages. In previous years the Constantinian Knights of the Marche region funded the construction of a well in the Itizo area of the aforementioned Mission to supply and distribute water to about a thousand local families.
Along with the ceremony there was a brief confidential conversation between Ambassador Balboni Acqua and His Most Eminent Cardinal Secretary of State in memory of the numerous cordial meetings that took place in the offices of the Secretariat of State and in the Italian Embassy to the Holy See during 2004-2007.

The Vice Delegate for Milano and Lombardy, Nobile Dott. Giuseppe Rizzani, Knight Commander of Grace of the Constantinian Order, spoke of their cooperation with the Diocesan Caritas of the Valle Intelvi Zone -Lake and Home of the Annunciation – Somascan Fathers of the Crucifix of Como, for the distribution of 1,000 articles of clothing to the needy.
This activity also was part of the Guardia di Finanza operations releasing confiscated assets. Under the leadership of the Prior, Msgr. Arnaldo Morandi, the Knights of the delegation transported the material to the various locations of the Lombardy Delegation,
The operation is just one of the activities of the program “The Hunger of our Neighbor”, strongly supported by the Grand Master, H.R.H. Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro.

DAY OF FAITH IN PELLEGRINA

The Delegation of Calabria accepted the invitation to participate in an extraordinary Via Crucis, organized as part of the restoration of the Cross in the Ancient Calvary, recently restored by the Congregation of Maria SS Annunziata di Pellegrina (instituted on 12 April 1859, with the sovereign blessing of King Ferdinand II of Bourbon). The procession advanced through the streets of the historical center, led by Father Giuseppe Saraceno, and numerous devoted followers, among whom were the brothers and sisters of the Congregation and the Knights and Dames of the Delegation.
