LOMBARDY: DONATIONS AND CELEBRATIONS IN MAY

Brescia, 6th of May 2023 – Food collection at Conad supermarkets.
Knights Maurizio Mirandola and Giuseppe Scolaro, the Decorated Marco Martino and the volunteer Massimiliano Apetino took part, together with other associations, in a food collection at different Conad locations in the city. What was received will be donated to people or families in need.

The Knights and Dames of the Naples and Campania delegation purchased at the AIRC and subsequently donated a large amount of Easter eggs to children.

On friday, April 7th, Holy Friday, Dame Nunzia Sannino, Knight Luigi De Angelis and Knight Carlo Ventre of the delegation of Naples and Campania participated in the historic procession on Holy Friday in Procida in order to escort the wooden statue of the Dead Christ and Our Lady of Sorrows.
Participation in the historic procession on Holy Friday was requested by official invitation, through Dame Nunzia Sannino and with the permission of the Marquise De Gregorio, directly by Matteo Germiniario, Prior of the Congregation of the Immaculate Conception of the Turks.
Dame Sannino, Knight De Angelis and Knight Ventre departed at dawn from the port of Naples to be at 7.00 in Procida for the beginning of the procession and escort the Statue of the Dead Christ and Our Lady of Sorrows together with the Police for the entire journey until the port and from the port to the Abbey of San Michele.

The Via Crucis and the Holy Mass of suffrage for H.R.H. Prince Don Ferdinando of Bourbon Two Sicilies, former Grand Master of the Order, was also held.

ABRUZZO AND MOLISE: Feast of the Holy Face and Easter Precept of the Delegation of Abruzzo and Molise

Tagliacozzo (AQ), 16 April 2023 – The Easter Precept of the Knights and Dames of the delegation of Abruzzo and Molise was held on the day of the Municipal festivity of the city of Tagliacozzo.
The celebrations were attended by many of our confreres accompanied by the Delegate and by Father Ennio Grossi, Knight of Ecclesiastical Grace of the Diocese of Avezzano, and numerous inhabitants of the district of Marsica present for the procession of the Holy Face.
Authorities of the Marsican area participated, represented by their Mayors. They were received with the honors by the Mayor of Tagliacozzo, city awarded with the Constantinian Gold Medal, our Knight Vincenzo Giovagnorio.
The delegations of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre also participated, with the Principal Dr. Gregorio Santino, and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, with the Delegate Dr. Fabrizio Venturini who paraded with our delegation in the procession along the streets of the town. The Holy Mass was presided by Reverend Cardinal Enrico Feroci, concelebrated by our brother Father Ennio Grossi together with many priests of the Diocese of Avezzano and the towns of Marsica.

THE INITIATIVES OF THE DELEGATION OF CALABRIA IN APRIL

The Professional Institute Boccioni-Fermi continues to show increasing commitment to social activities. In addition to the project “We for you…” that has been active for three years in Reggio Calabria, the Professional Institute has been awarded for having given its contribution at the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.
The school, led by Professor Anna Maria Cama, was awarded by two representatives of the Calabria delegation: the Vice Delegate Aurelio Badolati and the Vice Prior Monsignor Luigi Cannizzo.
In the presence of all the Management Staff, Prof. Roberto Verduci, Antonella Micalizzi, Vincenzina Granata, Mirella Praticò, Pietro Carlo, Angela Polimeni, Francesca Giuffrè, Margherita Ruffo, Dr. Umberto Boncompagni, the President of the Council of the Institute, the Vice Delegate Badolati pointed out the importance of the gesture made by the school and handed to the Director a publication entitled “Calabria Costantiniana” in which the activities, the donations and the charitable interventions carried out by the delegation in the years 2020-2021 are collected.

On Wednesday, April 12, a group of Knights of the Calabria Delegation attended the conference organized by the University of Tuscia and moderated by Prof. Paola Pogliani and Prof. Anna Arcudi, called “Behind the scenes of the restoration Giuditta and Holofernes” which took place inside the beautiful church of Maria SS del Rosario in Bagnara Calabra. The conference, in addition to a large audience, was attended by many authorities including the Mayor of Bagnara Calabra, the Superintendent of Archaeology Fine Arts and Landscape for the metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria and the province of Vibo Valentia, the Episcopal Vicar for the Pastoral Care of Culture of the Archdiocese of Reggio Calabria-Bova and the Director of the Office of Cultural Heritage of the Diocese of Reggio Calabria-Bova. The work of art in question depicts the famous biblical episode of the beheading of the general of Nebuchadnezzar, Holofernes, by the beautiful Judith that over the centuries has been depicted by artists such as Caravaggio, Artemisia Gentileschi and Guido Reni, just to name a few.

DONATIONS FROM THE TUSCAN DELEGATION IN APRIL

The PRCIV – ARCI Food Solidarity Center, with headquarters in Massa and Cozzile (PT), and its President Mr Ivano Lucchesi Annezzi has made available to the Tuscan Delegation a large amount of food for children, including milk, biscuits, homogenized and fruit juices that were distributed to two parish Caritas of the Diocese of Livorno and Prato with the collaboration of the Referent of Pistoia Knight Officer Daniele Romanelli and the other provincial Referents of Livorno, Pisa and Prato, with the approach of the Easter holidays, Friday 1st of April.

Livorno – Caritas of the Parish of Saint Andrew.
The food was distributed by the Provincial Representatives of Livorno and Pisa Knights of Merit Ezio Papa and Gianni Merola; the pastor Father Corner Benchea recieved the donation.

Prato – Caritas of the Parish of Narnali.
The Provincial Representative Knight Officer of Merit Dino Greco with the Knight of Merit Giacomo Perrina and the friend of the delegation Vincenzo Pizzicaroli distributed food; the pastor Father Luca Rosati received the donation.
