LOMBARDY: ACTIVITIES OF JUNE

On Thursday 11th, some Knights of the delegation were invited to participate in an official celebration at the diocese of Brescia, chaired by Mgr Pierantonio Tremolada, Bishop of Brescia. The ceremony was particularly touching given the current situation caused by the pandemic.

In collaboration with the local Caritas of Brescia, the secretary of the representation of Brescia, Mr. Maurizio Mirandola, assisted by Mr. Romano Savi, in coordination with the Vice Delegate and the Prior, ensured the delivery of food intended for the needs of several families and elderly people assisted by the parish.

Mr. Giuseppe Perego, in coordination with the Vice Delegate and the Prior, in agreement with the chaplain Mgr. Michele Somaschini and the collaboration of Mr. Pierangelo Pagani, delivered 2 pallets of foodstuffs, donated by the company Giovanni Rana, to the Don Folci Opera in Como and to the Caritas in Seregno.

On June 6th the Calabrian delegation offered some products to Father Giuseppe Saraceno, belonging to the community of Little Brothers and Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of Pellegrina. He had recently expressed his apprehension because of the increase in the number of families assisted by the parish; so the delegation decided to help.

In order to respond to the appeal of H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro, Head of the Royal House and Grand Master, to help the most needy Italian hospitals and those who work there, the delegation launched his own fundraising, thanks to which $ 50.000 were raised.

An anonymous donation of $ 5,000 to the memory of the departed Vincenzo Martino, who was given the Order’s Merit Medal a few weeks before he died of Covid-19, was particularly meaningful.

These sums were then deposited on the Charity Onlus platform.

PIEDMONT: ANOTHER DONATION IN ALEXANDRIA

On May 30th, the representation of Alexandria and Asti, led by Ms. Simona Delfino, donated some sanitation items to the Cathedral of Alexandria. The chaplain of the representation Augusto Piccoli also participated in the donation and everything was given directly to the parish priest Mgr Gianni Torriggia. These sanitizing products will be in favour of the faithful.

Pistoia, June 1st, 2020 – The Tuscan delegation, represented by Mr. Daniele Romanelli, with the collaboration of the President of Civil Protection of Chiesina Uzzanese (PT), Mr. Ivano Lucchesi, offered to the Association of Volunteering “a glimmer of hope at the station”, some products to allocate to their canteen, which provides daily hot meals to homeless people.

Florence, June 1st, 2020 – The Tuscan delegation, represented by Mr. Costantino Calcabrina, donated basic necessities to Father Daniele Centorbi, parish priest of the Church of San Iacopo in Polverosa.
