ROME: ACTIVATION OF THE “BLUE NUMBER” FOR TELEPHONE ASSISTANCE AND SPIRITUAL SUPPORT

ROME: ACTIVATION OF THE “BLUE NUMBER” FOR TELEPHONE ASSISTANCE AND SPIRITUAL SUPPORT

Rome, April 8th, 2020 – The pandemic that has struck the country has brought significant changes for our lives. If a part of the population is directly involved in this health emergency, we are all subject to social distancing.

In order to limit the discomfort and the feeling of abandonment caused by these daily challenges imposed by the quarantine, the delegation of Rome and Lazio has activated, from today on, the “blue number”  as to provide telephone assistance to all Knights and Dames of the delegation.

Those who need it can contact the volunteers at 06.87800086 from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Volunteers will seek to provide useful information to overcome the barriers determined by the isolation we are all subjected, but also to give a simple word of comfort and friendship

Support from new volunteers will therefore be essential, especially to improve the assistance that can be offered, by increasing the daily hours of activation of the telephone service and, if necessary, by providing home help to the most needy people. Anyone wishing to report their availability, even thought it can be limited, can write to delegazione.romaelazio@ordine-costantiniano.it indicating their last name, first name, mobile phone number and specifying their availability.

An individual spiritual support service is also active and managed by telephone by the Reverends, Ecclesiastical Knights and other volunteer Priests of the delegation. It will therefore be possible to call them for spiritual comfort, ask them for advice, knowing that no one will be left alone. The priests can be contacted at the following addresses:

– don Roberto Foini – 3280392687 – every day from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m;

– Mgr Jean-Marie Gervais – 3293986280 – every day from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m;

– don Ettore Capra – 3317537378 – every day from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m;

THE CONSTANTINIAN ORDER SUPPORTS THE HOSPITAL “PUGLIESE-CIACCIO” IN CATANZARO

April 2,nd 2020 “Every single euro donated will be a glimmer of hope and a small drop of life to win this challenge” stated Prince H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies on the occasion of a 30.000 euro donation to Pugliese Ciaccio Hospital in Catanzaro due to the Covid-19 emergency.

The non-profit of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George was begun with the goal of public assistance and social solidarity, particularly through charitable works and hospital aid. It decided to assist the most important hospital in Calabria’s capital, following an analysis of the region’s contagion map including the demographic rate of residents of the province. Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies emphasized: “Wanting to be able to assist again in the future by supporting the needs of the healthcare workers, I hope that our contribution will help leave an overall improvement in the hospital’s functions with regard to the needs of the people.”

A message of thanks sent to the non-profit’s organization stated: “The hospital’s administration expresses sincere gratitude for the appreciated generous contribution and the sensitivity shown, this means so much to us in this difficult and extraordinary time involving hospitals committed to confronting and reducing the spread of the COVID-19 virus. These are gestures which enable us to keep going, and say ‘we’re going to make it through this.’”

“The considerable contribution made by Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies will be used by the hospital I direct for the acquisition of medical devices and equipment necessary to begin Intensive Care stations during this emergency phase” explained Dr. Maria Laura Guzzo, acting director of the hospital’s anaesthesia-intensive care operational unit.
